As a co-founder of Black Fox Group David brings over 35 years of experience to bear in a wide range of roles.

David leads on all Black Fox Tax Compliance and Tax Planning projects.

‍

Initially trained by KPMG David completed his Chartered Accountancy and Chartered Tax Adviser qualifications covering Auditing, Accounting and Private taxation.  A period at Grant Thornton expanded his experience to cover Corporate taxation including Transfer Pricing, Share Schemes, Succession planning and wider complex International Group Taxation.

A final stint in the larger firm world culminated in David becoming a Tax Partner at PwC with local and national roles dealing with larger and more complex Transaction tax planning for the larger Private Equity houses.

‍

After helping to establish and grow a regional full-service accounting and tax firm from 5 individuals to approaching 50 employees David, with his co-founder Susan Thomas-Walls decided to establish The Black Fox Group.  

‍

Their mission is to establish a new, modern and forward-looking Accounting, Tax and Advisory group where every member of the team has a voice in creating an environment of excellent client service and a fun place to work.

Outside of work David loves travelling, attending music concerts of any genre, visiting the Theatre whenever time allows, and spending time in Wales, renovating the family farm and watching his grandchildren grow up.

Susan, co-founder of Black Fox Group, is a dynamic force with over 25 years of experience in Audit and Accountancy, bringing unmatched expertise to every role she undertakes. At Black Fox, she spearheads the Auditing, Accounting, and Advisory services, ensuring top-tier delivery for the firm's diverse clients.

Susan's journey began at Moore Stephens in Birmingham, where she earned her Chartered Accountancy Qualification in 2002 and ascended to Fellowship status in 2012. Her career path took her through mid-sized firms in the Midlands, before she boldly stepped into a Financial Controller role at a specialist manufacturing company with international reach. This hands-on experience from the client's perspective sharpened Susan's ability to deliver practical, client-focused solutions.

After playing a pivotal role in expanding a regional accounting and tax firm to nearly 50 employees, Susan, alongside co-founder David Thomas-Walls, launched The Black Fox Group—a venture driven by their shared vision of excellence.

Susan's passion lies in delivering efficient, client-centric, and high-quality services while cultivating a thriving team that loves what they do and feels integral to the firm’s success.

‍

When she’s not leading her team, Susan enjoys quality time with her beloved Labradors, Reggie and Bailey, and finds peace in her garden and the picturesque countryside of rural Staffordshire.

With nearly three decades of experience in accountancy, audit, and financial reporting, Sanjay is the Director of Audit and Accounts at Black Fox Group. He holds the FCA qualification and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Leeds.

‍

Sanjay manages a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from small owner-managed businesses to UK subsidiaries of listed international groups, across sectors such as property, construction, stockholding, manufacturing, and consultancy. His responsibilities include coordinating, planning, and overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts, tax compliance, and financial audits, as well as providing ad hoc services and advice. He specialises in audits of SMEs and owner-managed businesses, audits of group companies, consolidation of group accounts, cash flow forecasting, management accounting, and one-off accountancy investigations. Additionally, he handles statutory company secretarial matters.

Sanjay prides himself on offering a friendly and approachable service, communicating in plain English, and delivering high-quality, timely results for his clients.

‍

Outside of work, Sanjay has a diverse range of interests that bring him joy and fulfilment and keep him balanced and engaged. He is a passionate Formula 1 enthusiast, closely following the races and keeping up with the latest developments in the sport. Sanjay also enjoys working with LEGO, finding it both creative and relaxing as he builds intricate models and sets. His home office wall is adorned with his creations!

Family is a central part of Sanjay's life, and he cherishes spending quality time with his wife and children, creating lasting memories together. He also loves to travel, exploring new cultures and destinations, which inspires his creativity and broadens his horizons. These interests not only enrich his personal life but also contribute to his professional growth and perspective.

Stuart is Chairman at Black Fox Group.  Having started his tax career at HMRC Stuart moved into the profession after 8 years, joining Coopers & Lybrand in Glasgow. A senior partner at PwC, Stuart led the Midlands tax business and the national Tax Compliance function.

Since retiring from PwC Stuart has served as Executive Chairman at Prydis Group and as NED at Scottish premiership football club, Heart of Midlothian FC.  Stuart now holds a number of Director roles and in his spare time pursues his passion for family, golf and following Heart of Midlothian FC across Europe.
